Back door decoration...

009

$4.08 at Hobby Lobby.  Can you believe it?  Since I'm a purse fanatic this seemed like the perfect plant hanger for my back door.

012

I already had all the greens to put inside.

001

It's narrow and doesn't take up a lot of space.  We know Mr. Bird Nest hates that.

002

I may need to look for some red flowers as Valentine's Day approaches.

Bargain at Hobby Lobby...

001

I went to Hobby Lobby this morning and look what I found on sale for $7.99.  Had to have it!

014

It's the perfect thing for the door onto the screened porch.

003

I didn't plan to coordinate all of this but it just worked out this way.  I replaced my Christmas flag with the South Carolina state flag, my little feeder with blue stones and lavendert pansies.

004

Nothing looks as pretty as pansies in the winter.

Brainstorm...

I had this brainstorm this week and thought, wouldn't it be nice to have a little basket of flowers and greens on the door between the garage and the house.

Here's what I made.

009

010

Mr. Bird Nest wasn't home from work for 5 minutes when he said, "This basket has got to go.  It's in my way."

Granted, the basket is a little deep but I could walk around it for the rest of my life and not have it bother me.  He can't walk around it for 5 minutes.  Men sure do have a different genetic makeup.

By the way, I had a wreath on this door all fall and during Christmas and he never said a word.

So this morning I'm off to shop for some kind of a wreath or flat basket for on the door.  We'll see what I find.

Giveaway at the Gahan Girls...

The Gahan Girls are having an anniversary.

Check out the Gahan Girls...

It's done...

007

This is the shower curtain completed.  For some reason I'm underlining everything but I can't turn it off.

You can see the two fabrics, I hope.  I probably could have purchased a shower curtain for less money and man hours but it was kind of fun.  Two days worth of fun actually.

006

008

I made it a little more full than the old one and also made it to the floor.  I just like that look better.

Shower curtain...

001

I bought this fabric in November to make a new shower curtain for the guest bath.  We had to anchor a new rod to the wall because the old one wasn't attached.  I've been putting off making it because I'm lazy.  Finally, last weekend, Mr. Birdnest said it was time to get it done.  (Gosh, if he only knew how much other fabric I have in the closet for projects, he'd have a heart attack).  Anyhoo, I figured if I put it on my blog I would be comitted to getting it done.

002

Well, this is what I'm working with.  Hopefully, if I don't get distracted (which can happen) you'll see it tomorrow.

New globe...

015

Rick, Noelle, Nicholas and Chloe got me this globe for Christmas for my desk.  Isn't it perfect?  The little boys were tracking Santa on it on Christmas Eve until they discovered they could track him on my laptop with NORAD.  They are way too smart for me.

016

It came from one of my favorite stores.....Home Goods.

017

For those of you who haven't seen it before, this is where I blog and look out the window.

A simple little project...

001

This all started with my little white bookshelf that holds all my decorating and gardening books.  It was very inconvenient to try to retrieve a book easily and so I decided to move it and paint it.  Simple project, right?

001

I removed all the books (they weigh a ton) and moved the shelf to its new location.

002

I then painted it with the wall color so it blends in a little better.

003

I still needed a space to put my CD player and speakers and this shelf works for that too.

005

Here are a couple of the shelves rearranged with books and dogs.

006

And more books.

007

Since I was moving the shelf anyway, I decided to rearrange the living room.

008

This meant moving the couch and my cow pictures.  I need a laser level badly.

009

My dog pillows, again.

010

My little desk fit perfectly in this corner with more cow pictures and more dogs.

011

I kind of like all of this by the front door.

012

013

This is a good safe place for my apothecary jars.

014

If I were clever, I could have probably made a little video of this transformation but I'm not.

My project for today is to make a new shower curtain for the guest bath.  I really need to get this done.  Even Mr. Bird Nest wants it done and he never asks for anything.
