Joint Camp...

No, not the 60's kind........

This week I spent a morning at St. Francis Women's Hospital in Greenville learning about what will happen during my knee replacement surgery on Monday, March 30.

The room I'll check into looks like a private luxury hotel suite.  I mentioned that, but the nurse said she'll be in every morning to draw blood around 6:00 a.m. and it seemed less and less like a hotel.

They told me to expect a three day, four night stay (maybe one more day).  Mr. Bird Nest only has the day of my surgery off and that Friday, so I'm sure they will keep me until then.

The only thing I'm worried about is the spinal they will give me before the surgery.  That kind of freaks me out.  I wanted to be totally out of it and I'm afraid I won't be.

I swear if I see the movie "Coma" list on the TV movies I'm not going to watch it....I'm not going to watch it...I'm not going....

On to other more fun things.  I had lunch and went shopping yesterday with a great friend I hadn't seen for a while.  I got a really cute metal star painted like a flag.  I've begun covering our little shed with those and this will be a cute addition.  Best of all it had been $18.00 and I got it for $9.00.  It's a great idea to buy out of season.

Another sweet bunny!

Easter Greetings...

003

When Nicholas was here over the weekend, we got out some of our Easter decorations.  There's just something about a bunny that makes you smile.

When the grandsons were little they liked to rearrange the carrots in his basket.  I found some wooden ones to replace these so they didn't get broken.

So much for planting anything here early.

Building a surprise...

004

As I told you, I got this idea from my trip to an antique shop in NC this past week.

This is Nicholas beginning his project and gift for his Mama.

005

Is he cute or what?

006

He kind of looks like Superman or Spiderman with his kid sized safety glasses.

007

He understands that the sanding is important in what the finished product will look like.

It's like all the ironing and pressing you do when making a sewing project look great.

008

His Papa has also taught him to put all his tools together and have plenty of space to work.

009

Well, for those of you who guessed a shelf, you were right.  You could hang it on the wall, put it on the counter in your kitchen for cookbooks, etc.

010

He just put a whitewash finish on it.  Noelle's (DIL) kitchen is red, black and white.  He can bring it back and put another color on it or whatever she wants.

011

The bad news is they only had time to make one shelf.  I may have to make my own this week.
