New project...

002

Now where's that project????

This little bunny has a new ribbon but doesn't look his age at all....24.

003

Nicholas thought I needed a cross with my Bible.  We got an unfinished cross at Hobby Lobby and I stained it.

005

I stole this idea from Tina at Cherry Hill Cottage to fill my apothecary jar with plastic Easter eggs.

I got these two little chicks at Christmas time at Target for $2.24 each.

007

Here is the real project.  I made cushions for my six dining chairs.  Now I'm going to use several fabrics to make a floor length tablecloth for the table.  Maybe I'll layer them.  I've never made a floor length one but I saw one at Tracey's site Notes from A Cottage Industry.  Knowing her shopping savvy, she probably bought it for $1.25.

Camelias...

003

It's my favorite time of year in the garden.  Almost every day there is something new blooming and today are my red camelias.

004

I'm going to try rooting these so that I can move some to other parts of the yard.

001

There is nothing prettier that fresh flowers (just a few) in a pretty bathroom.

002

The bright red color of these are just perfect.

Stars and Stripes...

004

I found this red, white and blue star last week at a 1/2 off sale.  Noelle gave me the red one and the 3 smaller ones I bought several years ago.

008

I think they look perfect on our little shed in their new positions.

014

Oops, I sense this is a new collection.  I must add more.  I must.

More bunnies...

002

Another favorite bunny, paired with a bird nest and dogwood.

004

I got the adorable little rooster lamp for my birthday.

005

He fits perfectly on the kitchen counter.

I'm working on a little painting project I hope to show off tomorrow.  It may be our last day of sunshine for a while, so I need to get it done.

Please help me choose...

007

This is our Master Bedroom.  You haven't seen much of it because I can't seem to get it the way I want it.   It is just boring.  We have a king sized bed that takes up a big part of the room but we're not changing that.

I love the wall color and I think I want the other main color to be red but I've also thought of brown or black.

The dust ruffle is white and I have a white bedspread that goes over it (usually in the summer) and white shams.  I'm thinking about putting the white coverlet on and then putting a red coverlet across the bottom with some shams.

Here is the coverlet...

Checked Coverlet

These are all in www.linensource.com

I also found red checked curtains there and red & white toile.  I thought either of those might be a good choice.

What do you think?  I'm up for any and all ideas.

Saturday, March 7th...

011

Saturday morning Chris and Elizabeth invited us to their house for a birthday breakfast.  Elizabeth's family is from Tennessee and she made us fresh biscuits with sausage gravy, fruit, juice and coffee.  I didn't even worry about cholesterol or fat grams.  I just ate and it was delicious.

Mr. Bird Nest went home to power-wash the house and all of us took a trek to two nurseries.  Forgot the camera again.

I also got invited over on Saturday night for movie night.  We saw "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" and ate popcorn.

Another perfect day.

A wonderful two days...

Thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes and cards.  I had a terrific day and if getting to 62 is even half as much fun, I'm up for the challenges. I even managed to extend it into a two day celebration.

012

Noelle (DIL) and Chloe took me to Hendersonville, NC to "A Day in the Country" for lunch and shopping.

Chloe loved the gazebo and insisted on lots of pictures there.

002

 003

She was one of our waitresses.  I guess the roller skates help on the job but she seemed to be taking a break while we were there.

004

This lady seemed to have found a corner she enjoyed and spent the day there.

          007

Chloe and I had fun working on pictures while we waited for our delicious lunch.  Sorry, but I forgot to take a picture.

005

I so appreciate that Noelle was willing to use one of her precious days off from work and the children to spend with me.  To call her one of my best friends just doesn't seem like enough.

We got back to Nicholas' school in time to pick him up and then we went home to their house to open presents.  I'll post them later but I loved everything.  Even cute Ralph Lauren jammies to wear in the hospital.
