I love little stools...

 

I'm a sucker for little stools and when I saw these a few weeks ago, I had to have them. 

 

Right now I have them in the Master Bathroom but next week they might be moved somewhere else.

Redecorating the Master Bedroom...

 

This is my new quilt bedspread and shams I got from Overstock.com .  I loved all the colors and it had that Ralph Lauren/Laura Ashley look that I love.  Now to the dust ruffle.  I think the white one looks kind of goofy.  Do you think a need something beige or tan that's ruffled?

I've gotten lots of great help from Sarah at The Thrifty Decor Chick.  She thinks I need new shades for my swing arm lamps and I agree.

 

I've already gotten new draperies for the room from Ballards, I'll be anxious for you to see.  There is only one window in the room and they had free shipping.  I just have to get Mr. Bird Nest to move the curtain rod and put up a brace.  The curtains are kind of heavy. 

I still have to order the little chair but Mr. Bird Nest's birthday is coming up and he wants a table saw that he told me he would like to get someday.  Well, that day will be September 2nd....his birthday.  It's a surprise.  He hates to spend money on himself.

Well, I'm off today to take DIL Noelle and Chloe out to lunch for Noelle's birthday, which was yesterday.  Since A.C.Moore is having a Cricut sale, I'm anxious to see what I can find.

Vanity table is painted and ready to use...

This was the vanity as I first got it from E-Bay.

 

This was it after sanding and priming.

 

Now in it's a place for this old woman to sit and try not to look at the wrinkles, age spots and all the gray hair.

 

I wanted to leave the top natural.  It matches my end tables and I liked it that was.  Probably won't show as much dust also.

I'm thinking about getting this little chair from Ballard's to sit on.  It swivels (the grandkids will love that).  Any ideas on a color?

Over the next few days I'm going to show you the other parts of the room that I'm redecorating.  New draperies, new bedspread, etc.

BIRD NEST COTTAGE - $7.00 Dress

 

I bought this dress at Goodwill last summer for just $7.00.  It's lined and I'm planning to make it shorter so I can finally wear it this week.  It's one of the many projects I find when I look around the house, post retirement.

Thursday is DIL Noelle's birthday, so she, Chloe and I are going to lunch and shopping.  Chloe always wears a dress so I thought I would step it up a little with a dress too.  I have some new black sandals, I recently bought on sale for $20.00 that should look cute with it.
