Having fun with Carson and SNOW...

I guess Carson was showing off his martial arts muscles.

 
We ended up watching the movie Spider Man.  Carson played some fun computer games and he got to eat lunch on a tray, which he thought was a lot of fun.

 
This is what we woke up to this morning.  3 1/2 inches of snow.  Mr. Bird Nest has already been out shoveling.

 
You can see how much snow we got by looking at the steps up to the pool.

 
The hemlock tree branches are dragging on the ground.

The magnolias are covered and so is the road.  Mr. Bird Nest couldn't get his truck up the driveway, when he got home from work last night, at 6:30 p.m.

 
You can see the street still is covered with ice.

I don't think I'll be sitting on the front porch today even with the fleece blankets.

What a mess...

Well, the first coat of paint is on the shelves.  I've got more coats of paint to put on but I know I'm going to like it.

This is the mess my sweet husband has been putting up with all week.  It's been dinner in the library and he's been lucky to get that.  I'll have to make it up to him next week.

I'm going to paint these shelves also.  Just freshening them up will help in the kitchen.

Carson is coming over to play tomorrow, since his Mom has a teacher work day.  I need to get this mess cleared up before tomorrow morning.  I think he and I will make Valentine's for his parents tomorrow.  He loves doing crafts and his Nana loves it too.

More organizing...

   
I've been using this file box to keep all my magazine clippings organized in.  Well it has finally become to heavy for me to lift, so I had to come up with a new idea.

 
These just seemed to be a mess to when I wanted to look through them.

 
I found these pretty notebooks at WalMart and got a bunch of them.  I still need a few more.  I need to get more clear plastic sleeves from Staples too.

 
I've had it all spread out on the kitchen table for about 4 days and I'm ready to get this project completed.

 
This was how it looked without the extra notebooks.

 
They are going to take up an entire shelf on my bookshelf but it's so worth it to be able to find something when I want it.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

What do you think might be happening here???

 
You have all seen lots of pictures of my kitchen.  There is a simple change I've been trying to get Mr. Bird Nest to do and last weekend it was accomplished.

Rue, this is for you.  I told you he would have eventually do it, but I try not to nag.  The most important thing is to make him think it was his idea to begin with and that it's not a major kitchen remodel.

My project today is to remove all the China, paint the shelves white and then rearrange all the china.  I've got holes to patch and sand and it will take me a while but I hope to have it done by Friday.
