They say it's my birthday...

008
As an early birthday gift, (yes it's actually on March 6 -62nd) Noelle (DIL) and Chloe took me to Hendersonville, NC to lunch and shopping.

007
Chloe was the best girl there.

005
Noelle was the prettiest.

003
Chloe met a friend she likes to visit.

006
Chloe's favorite person.

011
We shopped after we ate in the upstairs restaurant and then it was time to hit the discount items they have in the basement.  I got this 3 sectioned bird dish for $6.50 and the mug for $3.50.

012
The purse I got for $14.99.  It's got all kinds of compartments and will be good to take to Florida the end of the moth.

We're celebrating my birthday tonight at our house with a homemade pizza party.  Time to get out the breadmaker for the crust.  I'm in charge of the pizza and toppings.  I'll make little pizzas for the kids that they can put their own toppings on.

Noelle is bringing salad and Elizabeth is bringing dessert.  I couldn't think of a better was to celebrate than with this family I love so very much.

A little rearranging...

009
This little chest of drawers has been in our guest bedroom.  We got a bigger TV for in there for the grandchildren to watch and you couldn't see in the mirror.

In April, we are having two sets of guests and we needed a mirror the ladies could use in the guest room.  Time to move furniture.

010
This chest of drawers I got from my Aunt.  The spool chest was my mother's and the compote was part of my mother's collection of Jacob's Ladder depression glass.

I'm a little teapot...

003
I know I said I wasn't doing anymore jigsaw puzzles this winter, but I found this one at the 20% off sale at Big Lots last weekend and had to get it.

How could a tea drinker pass up this cute teapot?

It's the little things...

001
I put the little additions on the kitchen cupboards today.

002
The little discs on top I just eyeballed.  I hope they're straight.

003
I love the fleur de lis.

001

Yesterday I went to Lowe's with Mr. Bird Nest so he could get some grass seed.  I bought two little plants for in the kitchen for about $2.50 each.  This time of year it's fun to have live plants.

A good book, reading glasses, a Coke and a pretty plant make me smile.

002
How pretty is this violet?

003
There is just something about having violets that make our house a home.
