It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

005

This wreath greets you at the front door of our house.

001

I had planned to paint my little rocking chair black to go on the porch but ran out of time.  Picture it there beside the big one.

I never knew where to put the cute little bird house my friend Joy gave me several years ago.  I decided to hang it on the porch swing for all my little feathered friends.

003

I moved my little bear (all dressed up) to greet guests as they come up the steps.

I can't finish this post without saying goodbye to someone I liked and admired, Elizabeth Edwards.  Although our political thoughts were sometimes different, I believe she was a gentle soul.  I read both of her books and to call them inspirational doesn't do them justice.  At last she is at peace with her son, Wade.

My lovely bookshelves...

001

Here are my new bookshelves in the living room.  Rick (my son) built them about 3 weeks ago.  It took me a week for priming and sanding and then another weekend with Mr. Birdnest helping me paint them.

002

I'll be arranging and rearranging them all winter long.  It's hard to get them exactly like I want them.

003

I had him put a plate rack on each shelf.   All I had to do was show him some pictures with my ideas and he took it from there.

I can't thank him enough for all the craftmanship and thought he put into my shelves.  As a proud mother, I have to say he is extremely talented.

Now that this project is done, I'll be able to blog daily (well at least more often).

Hugs,

Gretchen
