Before, After and After...

BEFORE

AFTER

AFTER THE AFTER

OK, have I ever mentioned that I'm a little OCD.  The mirror just didn't look high enough to me.  In anticipation of Penny's arrival and the fact the Mr. Cottage would be home in an hour, I hung the mirror on the previous mirror hooks.  It just looked too low.  Since Mr. Cottage hasn't even noticed the new mirror (he's not very observant) and he was not working yesterday, I had to wait until this morning to fix it.  Do you like it, or is it now too high.

I like the mirror better now but what do you think?  Should it be just a touch lower?  I'm counting on all of you to be my eyes from a neutral point.  I have until Mr. Cottage gets home at 6:30 or 7:00 tonight to change it.

I also spotted a table with two drawers that was probably from the forties or fifties on Saturday at a used furniture store.  I think it would be prettier under the mirror.  It was $80.00 and a bargain but I want to really love what I buy for that space.  The table that is currently there came from Garden Ridge many, many years ago and the sewing cabinet was my mother's.

I really need help in more ways than one.

  2. I seriously think the table is perfect and I like the height of the mirror. Love how you decorated the table as well. My husband never notices anything for quite awhile. I had a mirror I wanted heim to hang......he kept putting it off. So I did.....and not the correct way but it is still hanging, hah.

  4. I found your blog from Comforts of Home. The mirror hung higher looks better to me.

  5. I like the mirror hung higher,Gretchen. The little table you want to buy sounds versatile. If it doesn't work, you can probably use it somewhere else in your home. Love the re-done table top and the touch of red in the flowers!

  6. Love it! Did he notice? My hubby doesn't notice some things and others he seems to be zeroed right in. Weird! Thanks for visiting my blog!

  7. I love the after after look. Lots of texture and color. I think the mirror is just right. I always think when you look in a mirror your head should be in the upper half somewhere. Your hanging job looks spot on. Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking the time to comment. I'm a new follower! (I'd love to see that sewing cabinet up close if you get a chance.)

  8. I think the mirror looks just fine the way it is, and I love the table that is already there. My husband does not notice things, either. Sometimes that is a good thing.
