Hen & Chicks...

This is one of the things I bought last week at the garden party at Twigs in Greenville.  Don't you just love the chippy little planter.  The vine-like wrap around the plant is man made but is a signature of Twigs.

One Half Dozen Long Stem Roses

Do you see the little sprigs of pine in this vase?  This is an example of the arrangements they have there.  Kate Tierney, the owner, always includes twigs or branches of some kind in her arrangements.  Isn't this beautiful?  Her style has given me a different way of looking at flower arranging.

So, go into your back yard and see what you can put together, without buying flowers.  It can be really fun and creative too.  It is a lot easier this time of year when so many Spring flowers are blooming.

  2. Gretchen,
Most of my yard is perennials, so I am happy I thought ahead and planted them instead of having to spend so much money each year! I wanted to thank you for your sweet comment. I think it is high time to get her started sewing! Make sure you look around if you are getting a machine, there are places that have much better prices than others. Google the machines. They have a darling little teal one that I originally wanted to get her but opted for this one since it was something she could grow with, it had a few more features. I hope you both have fun creating together when the time comes!
    Hugs,

  3. Gorgeous planters! I really like hens & chicks. I had some spider hens & chicks once. Love those!
