My Glittered Eggs Arrived...

I'm so excited.  My package from http://www.etsy.com/shop/heididevlin arrived today!  She has the fabulous blog Foxglovesfabricand folly.blogspot.com.

The eggs were packaged in this beautiful cellophane bag and tied with an ecru silk ribbon.  Talk about fancy.  It was just fun to open the bags.

Here they are in my Easter basket on my hutch.  I've got to find one of those big old baskets like Heidi has hers displayed in.

These will definitely be the centerpiece of my Easter table.  I'm thinking maybe with slim, vanilla infused, tapered candles.

I don't know how Heidi makes these darling eggs but they are truly beautiful.  Check them out at her Etsy shop.  She also makes pillows and glittered candy canes and glittered snowballs.  Call me crazy and I know I don't need any more Christmas decorations, but I also ordered the snowballs and candy canes.  I know I won't be disappointed.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Delicious Lemonade

Penny of Comforts of Home mentioned on her blog about this lemonade.  I absolutely adored the bottles, so when I was near Fresh Market this week I stopped in to purchase some.  It was on sale 2 for $7.00.  Kind of expensive but I knew I could use the bottles later.

This is the great bottle that you get to use after you drink the lemonade.  The labels were really easy to get off and after a quick run through the dishwasher this is how it looked.

Happy Friday!

Another Wire Basket

I told you I would let you know what I did with one of my other wire baskets.  Well, here it is.  I'm just a cook who can't stand to have her kitchen counters all cleared off.  Fortunately, I'm not selling my house so I don't care if my counters look cluttered.  I would rather have my spices out where I can grab them and adjust a sauce or season as I see fit.

I always have my tea kettle and jar of sea salt for cooking on the stove.

If you really enjoy cooking and add spices, etc. you would really enjoy this.

Enjoy!

Dining Light...

Yesterday, it was 86 degrees here and I decided to fix a light dinner.  We had BLT's (minus the lettuce), cantalope and potato salad.

I'm off to get my infusion today so this will be short.

Happy Wednesday!

The Beauty of a Vignette...

Recently, I was looking at one of my favorite blogs:  http://foxglovesfabricandfolly.blogspot.com/
The owner of this blog is Heidi Devlin and I found her almost 4 years ago when I began blogging.  She has become a friend and I urge you to visit her site and see her incredible sewing skills on pillows in her Etsy shop.

Heidi gives a great tutorial on how to create a Vignette.  I used her ideas on the base of my hutch.  I think it just oozes Spring and Easter.

The only thing missing are some fabulous eggs.  Not to worry, Heidi took care of that.

These are her fabulous glittered eggs!  Right now they are winging their way across the U.S. from California to South Carolina.  I can't wait to show you what they look like in my little basket.  (Even Heidi's basket was adorable.)

Updating the screened porch...

This is our screened porch at the back of the house.  This is where we live a good part of the year.

Hud is off for 5 days starting on Friday and we are going to clean the ceiling fans, walls, floor and screens.  We've already gotten started by taking one of the sofa pillows and opening it up and washing it in the washing machine.  We were both happy with how well it was cleaning.  The bad part is that there is no zipper on the cushions and I will have to open the ends and then sew them shut by hand.  I love hand sewing though so it's doable.

I hope this will be the year that I add some draperies to the end of the porch by the sofa.  We just had all of our trees trimmed over the winter and we are getting lots more sun on the porch than we used to.

This is the table that my son built for me and I'm planning to paint the chairs white to lighten things up.  I'm also planning to get new cushions for these chairs.

I would love to paint the ceiling a sky blue but that may have to wait for another year.  Did you know that painting your ceiling blue keeps the bees away?

Do you have plans already for your outdoor spaces?  It's so warm already we have to start earlier this year.

Happy Monday!

An Expensive Trip to the Grocery Store

Yesterday, Hud was working and about 4:00 p.m. I decided to go to Publix to pick up a few groceries.  Well, as you can imagine, I was hungry, everything looked good and I spent far to much.

I bought the two magazines, flowers, generic Zyrtec, goldfish and lots of other snacks to the tune of $110.96.  Wow!  Do you ever do that?

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.  We are having, what looks like, an all-day rain.

Enjoy!
