I have had this beautiful quilt since my Mother passed away 28 years ago and it was on of the heirlooms I received. It was always at the foot of hers and my Daddy’s bed for as long as I can remember. I kept it folded and placed in a hutch in our guest room. Finally, a month ago I decided I should get it out and enjoy it.
In January, I painted the master bedroom a hunter green color. It is so dark it makes picture taking virtually impossible. Hence the strange photos. I removed the draperies at the window. Since we already had plantation shutters at the window, I decided not to use drapes.
I also rearranged the furniture just a bit.
The quilt seems to be a better background for our headboards. I also realize I will have to try to press the quilt to get rid of the permanent fold from being folded for so many years.
I love having my dressing table in this space. It gives me room for my little shelf and lots of photos. Also, beneath the shelf is a small black iron rack with little birds on it. I love having my necklaces so accessible and easy to find.
